CSP review by SRT

Another great review of our Clubsport pedals.

Darin and Tommy showed not only the features of the pedals but also have a line up of all available colour kits and show the Tuning kit as well.

They missed the ABS vibration but  even without that it was convincing enough to prefer our CSPs over more expensive pedals and anything which is delivered together with any other wheel.

Off topic, but pretty cool.

Off topic, but pretty cool. The best racer in iracing uses fanatec gear.

I have the ClubSport pedals

I have the ClubSport pedals and see why they rave about them. For the money, they're just killer, and once you get adjusted to the brake pedal feel, you WILL be faster with them. I think any serious racing gamer with the means should have them.

I'm also surprised they didn't cover the ABS vibration. If you use it with a Fanatec Wheel, the ABS feature is fantastic. It takes effort to tweak the max braking point, deadzone, and ABS settings, but once you dial that in, the vibration is a great way to transmit a subtle warning of impending brake lockup. I don't use anti-lock brakes in most games now thanks to this feature.

I do think it's pretty easy to find some cons for these pedals though. Here are mine:

- Delicate circuit boards and wiring are exposed, possible risk of accidental damage.
- No hardpoints for fixed mounting in a rig or stand are included.
- They can be prone to tipping back if you have them set to require a lot of brake pressure.
- Some of the metal edges can be quite sharp.

There's blood on my pedals! :) I got them for the loadcell brake, that thing is amazing!

Very positive review, indeed

Very positive review, indeed the "cons" that they came up with are hardly cons for the average sim racing enthousiast.

Personally I think that they could have summed up all the options in a more structured way. The cons were presented clearly and therefore got quite some focus, while all the good things got scattered a bit over the interview.

Not surprised they missed

Not surprised they missed the ABS as it only works on one title. Damn I forgot all about it until you (Thomas) mentioned it

It does only when hooked up to a Porsche Turbo Wheel, I think

I almost felt sorry for

I almost felt sorry for them as they were obviously struggling to find some con points. And because those con points are not really substantial they needed to spend more time on it to explain it Wink

I take it as a compliment and it is so obvious that the overall impression to the viewer should be very positive.

there where no cons, only

there where no cons, only their own preference which can not be taken as a con.
i only wished that this review was much earlier so i could get this pedals sooner.

Die CSP sowie das Tuning Kit sind jeden Cent wert.
Meine Empfehlung ! macht weiter so ;-)

Nice, I was awaiting this

Nice, I was awaiting this review. They teased it two episodes ago.

It looks like they didn't

It looks like they didn't find anything really wrong with the pedals. The brake pot is not really not a 'con' imho. Who reallly sticks their foot in between the pedals anytime during a race back far enough to hit the pot and adjust it? Being realistic here, InsideSimRacing is reaching for straws here trying to find cons which I think speaks to the quality of this product.

I noticed they didn't mention the ABS brake vibration feature. I just got my CSP's yesterday and i'm coming from the Microsoft xbox wheel (I know) but working out the brake pedal does take some time. It definitely feels more like my miata where it's not about position of the pedal, but about the amount of pressure for modulating braking power, if that makes sense. It's very confident boosting to feel this especially when deep braking just before tire lockup. I'm definitely glad I picked up the PWTS:UE over the regular PWTS now.

Good review, I liked the interview. Thanks for the post Thomas.

There is no way you can

There is no way you can compare a porsche911 to a mazda mx5!

Btw, Thomas have you ever driven a real 911?

Yes. But my favourite

Yes. But my favourite Porsche ride was driving 320 km/h with a Porsche 959 on the Autobahn. I was just 18.

Mmmmmmm, 959 that would be a

that would be a blast.

If you accelerate at 260

If you accelerate at 260 km/h you still get pressed into your seat. It was simply stunning to drive such a car.
