CSR Elite - Community testers wanted! UPDATE 3

We already started the beta tests but we need some more people to help us testing the product and also to make a review about the products for your community.

Here are the specific requirements:

  • Needs to be able to test on Xbox 360 and PS3
  • Bonus if you can also test on PC
  • Needs to be able to write a written review or video review
  • EU, Japan and USA participants only
  • Minimum age: 21

Basic rules

  • Please report all issues to Darin
  • Test period: Until October 15th
  • After the test period you can send back the wheel or purchase it with a 50% discount
  • Shipping costs will be covered by Endor
  • Of course we will give no guidelines what you write in your review. You don't have to be a fanboy to get the chance to test it.
  • Embargo: You are not allowed to publish anything about this wheel until October 15th
  • We will store your credit card information as deposit.

If you are interested, please follow the next steps:

  • Please register here if you are not registered already: http://www.911wheel.de/?q=node/1154
    You can only register once!
  • Post the following information as comment to this blog entry:
    Your country / language
    Consoles / PC you own
    Links to reviews you made
Forums you are most active in
Tell my why you would be the perfect tester

The beta test for the CSW will follow as well but quantities are very limited.

UPDATE:

If you cannot register anymore it means that you probably are already registered. It is only possible to register one time. But this does not mean you cannot participate in several tests of course.

UPDATE 2:

Thanks for the tremendous response. We only have a very few wheels available but the enourmous amount of interest convinced me to make a second round with more testers. Keep posting.

UPDATE 3:

Thanks for the great interest. We have now selected testers and will notify them soon.

Work Hard. Race Harder. Hey

Work Hard. Race Harder. Hey Thomas. Just saw the production of the CSR ELITES. Wow. I'm so excited. Just wondering, when will we be told if we have been accepted for the CSR elite Community Test? Thanks

Work Hard. Race Harder. Hey

Work Hard. Race Harder. Hey guys did anyone receive confirmation whether they made it in or not?

I haven't myself but I have

I haven't myself but I have seen this guy on gtplanet.net called Mr.Latte and he has posted pics of his CSR-E that he received by applying on here. I think its safe to say we didn't get chosen but hopefully I will get a chance at testing the CSW

Work Hard. Race Harder. Please tell us Thomas... I'm am nervous that I haven't been accepted and I really want the CSR ELITE as I cannOt afford it

Neither did I get accepted

Neither did I get accepted and I cant afford it either.
Sometimes you just need to accept thats the way life is and since places were limited I didnt get my hopes up. You can buy a CSR though if you could have afforded this at half price

Hey Thomas, Will the beta

Hey Thomas, Will the beta test program still retain the 1 Month test period?
Hope I get chosen. Its inspiring to think you could actively help improve a product for the masses to enjoy lol :)

Yeah I was talking about

Yeah I was talking about that with Simracer92. It would be awesome to be a part of, and potentially help improve, one of the coolest pieces of racing hardware to date.

Didn't Simracer92 already

Didn't Simracer92 already get accepted into the CSW Beta test program for helping Thomas with a YouTube Video? If I dont get to test the CSR-E I hope to test the CSW since my PC is pretty badass with a good collection of racing Sims. I basically got everything set up, now just awaiting the decision. My application made it to the final selection on Forzamotorsport.net but unfortunately I didn't get enough votes.

Thank you Thomas for finally choosing the testers! :D I really hope I get an email or a PM soon saying that I am getting a CSR Elite soon! Also THomas, not to be greedy, but can I also order the Elite Pedals and CSR Shifter at 50% off too? I would really like that. And also do you have an exact date when we will be notified? Thanks! and keep on making great products!

I helped write the Street Fighter Alpha 2 strategy guide which was done by national tournament champions. It is not a review but for nearly 15-years it was regarded as one of the best North America strategy guides written. I mention this since each of the authors have great gaming skill and an ability to break-down complex mechanics ;)

I currently perform build reviews and occasional game evaluations but they are for internal company use and can't be shared LOL.

Forums you are most active in:
Seems like all of them are covered such as GTP, neogaf, etc. I can do cheapassgamer.com which is another high-traffic gaming site. I can post a blog and thread in its appropriate section for your wheel. Here is some quick data I just grabbed from the main forum page:

Tell my why you would be the perfect tester:
I actually have nearly 10yrs game industry experience with several years spent in the QA department. I have done both hardware and software testing. I know how to break things, communicate issues effectively, and when I find issues I am very good at determining cause and reproduction steps. I notice every little thing!

Another unique advantage I can provide is access to a vast library of games. We have all the latest titles and we get them on all 3 platforms. I can do compatibility testing on PS3/PC/360. I know this is a big concern for the community so this is something I can actually cover for you guys. I can put together a compatibility chart and report performance of games across all 3 systems. The latest NFS comes out on 11/15 so you can be sure i can give you data within days of release :)

I currently own T500rs, used to have G25 and G27.

Work Hard. Race Harder. Hey

Work Hard. Race Harder. Hey Thomas, now I have an Xbox, PS3, and PC (iMac but with Windows)! So I can test on all three!

Links to reviews you made : Haven't made any review on a website but at my workplace i convinced 7 persons to buy gt2 wheels to play forza and gt5 online! Yup 7 persons!! We've known each other for at least 10 years and gamed a lot!! They came to test the GT2 here at first (with clubsports) and i convinced them that they needed the same setup lol

Forums you are most active in: IGN forums ( mostly dead) / bad Cartridge and some french language gaming forums!

Tell my why you would be the perfect tester: i don't know how many fanatec wheel you sold in my city but I'm pretty sure I'm one of the big reason you sold those because each friday night, we organise a racing night at my place! Each of my friend bring their GT2 and we play online! We invite a lot a people each of those nights ( 20-25) and take turns playing! So having a CSR Elite would promote it (a little like when you do a gaming show)
We'll probably start filming those events and put them on youtube and share them in french gaming forums too so it's a little bit more exposure too :)

I just love your products... I will buy a CSR Elite, not because I need it but because I will no be able to resist lol I NEED to have it!!! I just hope I could help beta test it!

BTW, we play iRacing, Forza, GT, Dirt, F1 2011!!

In fact, we're a team of 8 so we're hoping for a CSR Elite to share lol

Is this already done? I had

Is this already done? I had small hopes of trying this thing out early. I just hope in the end the production times are not delayed to much or at all. I'm so looking forward to getting my hands on this wheel in the near future

Only just spotted this, ill

I tested for Fanatec before testing the new website and with the Logitech G27, Porsche Turbo S, Porsche GT2RS and GT3RS with Clubsport Pedals and normal Porsche Pedals, so maybe someone else should get a chance :-), I do have the bonus of having tried all those wheels already though

Work Hard. Race Harder. Umm

Work Hard. Race Harder. Umm Thomas we our deadline was supposed to be October 14, but considering that is only ten days away, when are we getting to try the CSR Elite? I really wannna play it with FM4

Has the team been selected

Has the team been selected already?

Work Hard. Race Harder.

Work Hard. Race Harder. Sadly no. Not to be pushy Thomas but we people are already getting their CSRs and a lot of us want to test the CSR Elite w/ FM4. Please. Thanks

No news? Please don't keep

No news? Please don't keep people hanging and end our hopes of testing a CSR wheel. Myself I have been hoping testing the CSR or CSW wheel would give me the confidence again to buy a Fanatec product as I am quite disapointed in the GT2. It just lacks definition in FFB and the feeling is not there. It seems very unreliable to produce consistent times and you never get a feel for the car.

Switching to A G27 soon I guess as taking the plunge again is too expensive.

If you don't like the GT2

If you don't like the GT2 then I highly doubt that the G27 would make you happy - what games are you playing and on which system as the FFB can vastly differ from system to system even with the same game?

You should really trust in the quality of the CSR Elite - at GamesCon I tested the new Fanatec wheels at the Codemasters/F1- & the Microsoft-booth and it was great. Imho definitely much better than G25/G27, at best only the T500 can provide a similar driving experience but after my first test in Cologne I'd say the CSW/CSR Elite could become the best wheels available.

phusebox's picture

I use the GT2 for Forza 3,

I use the GT2 for Forza 3, Forza 4 demo, GT5, F1 2011, F1 2010, Shift 2, Race Pro all on consoles (xbox 360 and ps3).

I have had a few chances to try the new Fanatec wheels; 1 run at Gamescom at the F1 stand and 1 run with Forza 4 at Firstlook. It felt great, but still very reluctant to again pay a lot of money for a product that disappoints when you put a lot of hours in and really get to know it.

Been able to try the G27 more intense past couple of weeks; and it feels so much better when it comes to FFB. Steering is very precise and not as loose and wobbly as the GT2. With the GT2 it never feels like I am in control of the car.
