Inside the ClubSport Wheel

I am currently in China and one of my main tasks is to supervise the pre-production assembly of the CSW samples.

Although I did not plan to reveal so much at this date I could not resist to show you those pictures. Please excuse the bad quality as I only had my mobile phone with me.

Ooops Surprised

Hi there nice pics Thomas

Hi there nice pics Thomas got one question about them.

Does it mean that the CSR forza wheels already been shipped or do they still have to make them and are these pics your first ever production models?

I need moar details to make

I need moar details to make up my mind if I want the GT2 or one of the new ones, the GT2 will just look so much nicer in my living room but the new wheels have the interchangeable rims (among other things)

On the verge of

On the verge of tears...

Quality looks exceptional. You are clearly very excited about your new products, as are we. :)

That's not fair ;) How do

That's not fair ;) How do you want me to choose :

"Ok, I sell my 360, the clubsport wheel and quick release is so niiiice"

"But forza 4 is soon there and seams to be a nice improvment over Forza 3 (with pirelli tires data) so the CSR elite will be the better choice"

Thank you to make me mad and to share your passion in making so wonderfull hardware :) I am a video game developper, and I can imagine how cool it could be to work in Turn 10 studio now ! Should send a CV there no ? :)

I do believe Thomas

I do believe Thomas commented in another post that the internals of the CSRE are virtually identical to the CSW. And while the CSRE does not have a quick release, it is still somehow compatible with the CSW add on wheels. However, I would take my words with a grain of salt until an official statement/video is released.

Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

Yes, I have read that it

Yes, I have read that it will be possible to switch wheel rims with the CSR Elite too but not with the elegant quick release system. And I don't know if both wheel bases will handle all future modules (like steady paddles).

Maybe not out of the box.

Maybe not out of the box. But look what happened with the G25 mod community. Where there is a will there is a way.

Also something I noticed on the GT rim. Is that the same paddle shift mechanism as seen on the F1 rim? I think so.

Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

Yes I have the same fealing

Yes I have the same fealing about the shifter mecanism, it seems to look like the F1 rim. What about to offer a nice SLR to Thomas (with zillion megapixels, so we can zoom enough to know how many lines are on the optical wheel so we can have an idea about the angular precision, the t500rs get 1080 / 2^16 = 0,0164794921875 degres).

Ps : The optical should have 21 845 lines to be as precise, I don't think it is possible.

Pps : if the lines are every 1 mm and the optical wheel radius is about 5cm, then we get a 0.2 degre precision wich is enough I think. Extra resolution is only a selling point.

pps : if you are looking there you can see lines on translucide disc, I think it is about 10 cm radius, and then if lines are drawn every 1 mm (I compare the size of Thomas finger with mine, then try to get an idea about wheel dimensions), we have got a 0.1° resolution... My wife wonders why I use the tape measure on the screen :)

This may not be needed. If

This may not be needed. If you think of it more like a mouse, then you can see it achieving a far greater resolution than the count of the lines would indicate.

I have tried to understand

I have tried to understand how old mouses optical wheel / sensor combo work. It seems they use holes offset to enhance precision but as there are no real light occlusion with the wheel disc, I am not sure the same approach can be used. I will wait for more official specs :)

But it is hard to wait... And as I am currently living in Canada, I can not hope to be picked as a reviewer... I will move in France soon, but it will be too late :P (doing a lot of "maths" in order to find if it will be cheaper to buy a CSR or CSW in Québec or in France...)

As far as I can judge, this wheel really deserves the Clubsport brand.

Cant hardly wait for complete details, and even more: cant wait to run the Mastercard through its pases.

As an ealier post said - what about a picture of the front side of the GT wheel.

Thomas: when will you brake news on the CS handbrake and CS shifter.

Those wheels looks

Those wheels looks wonderfull!! Great Thomas...keep going!!!
Just a few questions:
- Apparently they are no shifters so the CSS will be avalaible also at the end of this year??;) (but maybe those just aren't mounted yet)
- For the optional fixed shifters please make them to be possible to change speed up and down with just one hand.
- We can see the CSR ELite pedals on the second picture...are you working on a CSP v2 with the same design with the possibility to get them inverted easily ?(availability???)
- The two motors looks like two cheap brushed 540 class motors...??? Please tell me I am wrong!

Aye Thomas ! Show some

Aye Thomas ! Show some patience ;-)

You had to go and show the GT rim didn't you..

Another security breach !!!

Thomas, you are the best!

Thomas, you are the best! Seriously. Every company that makes cool products should have a blog like this.

Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

Thank you for sharing these moments

When I was a kid "made in

When I was a kid "made in japan" was a joke. In ten years or less none will questioning products manufactured i China. In fact, it will stand out as high quality and probably already is. Looking forward to get my hands on the new CSW with F1 and GT rim - hopefully before Xmas?

PS. Quote from my FB nov 11 2009: "I would imagine there will be some pro och highendversions in theire productline in the future."

Love the inside look of the new wheel. I must say you have made huge advancements with your product. I hope the best for the release of all the new stuff. I'm keeping a close eye on a release date or a pre order date so I don't miss out on one.
