The CSR wheels are swimming!

I am happy to announce that production of the following products is running in full speed:

  • Forza Motorsport CSR wheel
  • CSR Elite Pedals
  • CSR Shifter set

The first containers are already on the way to Europe and the USA and we will have inventory for the launch of Forza Motorsport 4 on October 11th.

That means we will start taking pre-orders for these products until supply lasts.

The CSR Elite has just passed the technical approval of Microsoft so we can start the production of this model in a few weeks as well as the CSR pedals and the CSR Pedal Inversion kit.

The CSR Elite got a new colour scheme with rubber coating on the full wheel rim and on the back cover.

We also released the first pictures of the CSR pedals which will be introduced in a dedicated video very soon.

hello Fanatec, i had a

hello Fanatec,

i had a question about the CSR vs CSR elite wheel angle. looks like the angle of the CSR is pointing up about 30 degrees, but the angle of the CSR elite is very horizontal. Is there anyway to adjust the angle when hard mounted on a flat table? I ask because my rig wheel platform is angled down a bit and if CSR-E is straight horizontal then my wheel will be pointing down. Can the wheel angle be adjusted on CSR - Elite? Thanks!!

I believe the wheel is sold

I believe the wheel is sold with a mounting plate (maybe it's called a spacer, riser or bracket) that is pre-drilled with the holes aligning to previous wheels. I'm not sure if this plate is required or if the CSR Elite is compatible with a table clamp as is. In any case the angle of the mounting surface for this plate is similar to the other wheels.

oh really? is there a place

oh really? is there a place on the blog that says what it ships with and lists out the dimensions of the CSR-E base and drilling template? i want to make sure it fits on my rig before i buy.. now decisions, decisions.. i just put my preorder in for CSR but now i may want the CSR-Elite!!

I can only say that Thomas

I can only say that Thomas mentioned something before. I cannot remember if it was a post or an interview. Maybe another member has a better memory than I do. The only thing I an tell you is this is something they have thought of. As far as there being a place that describes box contents, I don't believe anything like that has been finalized. I don't believe there is even a firm release date for the CSR Elite yet.

awesome, thanks.. yeah i

awesome, thanks.. yeah i think i read about that bracket/spacer with similar angle to existing wheels in the forums product section. makes sense for them to do that so it fits with same mounting holes as existing wheels and allows for switching out of wheels for same hard mounting hole patterns.

are you getting CSR or CSR Elite for Forza 4?

I have a PWTS with CSP right

I have a PWTS with CSP right now and reg shifter kit. I've been saving for a wheel since I heard about the CSW. I may get the CSW instead as I've finally figured out how to mount the PC in my rig. I'm not really sure what I'm going to do. Swapping a wheel seems like a bunch of work but I could easily design a plate for quick release and fab it in a shop. I really LOVE the CSW F1 wheel. It's a tough call. What's kinda cool about is that we even have the choice. Fanatec has quite a full line up. I know 100% for sure, regardless of the wheel i have the CS Handbrake and CS Shifter is being ordered as soon as I have the option.

actually i have pretty much

actually i have pretty much the same setup as there was at gamescom 2011 show.
will you guys be selling a bracket similar to the one in the pic below

CSR or GT2.

Which will wheel is better the CSR or GT2 to buy just want to check before I buy one. Or is it better the wait for the CSR elite when it is released?

When will the CSR pedals be

When will the CSR pedals be released, Thomas? Thanks : )

And if I want to order the CSR Elite pedals, when's the latest I can order them so I will get them for the launch of FM4?

It depends whether you are

It depends whether you are willing to spend that much money. GT2 and CSR are both very good wheels but Elite will definitly be better.

I agree. If you buy a

I agree. If you buy a GT2/CSR and a set of CSR Elite pedals you will still be cheaper than the Elite by $100 US + tax and still need to buy pedals.

Is there any news on news

Is there any news on news rims for the CSR Elite

Thomas, when the CSW becomes

Thomas, when the CSW becomes available, can we choose the wheelrim that comes with de wheel (F1 or GT)?

Since the new wheels have new electronics, there will a new driver.

Will there also be software to support the extra features of the CSW, so we can map keys en macro's to the buttons?

Are you making a "FULL" F1 wheel (like thrustmaster) in the (near)future?

Hello all, Thomas or Armin,

Hello all, Thomas or Armin, i didn't understand well if Clubsport shifter is CSR SS or an another product ? And have you any news for "clubsport handbrake" ?

thanks
eric

No the CSR SS is an upgrade

No the CSR SS is an upgrade to the standard shifter set. The clubsport shifter hasn't been released yet.

Is there a release date for

Is there a release date for the csr elite wheel yet? Or even just say what month they are going to be available for pre order... I've been checking the fanatec web site every day .

Hi Thomas, will there be

Hi Thomas,

will there be any discount for people who have purchased the PWTS (with standard pedals) when ordering the CSR Elite Pedals? (I believe you did a similar thing with the Club Sport pedals when they came out?)

It would be nice if they were a bit cheaper, as my standard pedals are on their last legs (and it would cost me more to send them back to you, than they are now worth!) and they do look awesome!

Come on Thomas, help a hen-pecked Husband out! (You can't believe the aggro I had to convice the Wife, so I could get the PWTS in the first place!)

Cheers

I ordered and paid for a CSR shifter on Monday, September 19th. It is still showing in pending status. Is there any estimate on when the items ordered will start shipping out?

Troy, I'm in the same

Troy,

I'm in the same position as you. I'll be wishfully hoping these get to me asap. Until then, I'll focus on building a custom collapsable setup for it. BTW, your order will go from processing to paid, then I'm hoping to shipped!

Thomas, when are you showing

Thomas, when are you showing the new GT wheel rim for the CSW? It's way past half september.

People need to be motivated in waiting for the CSW, because the Thrustmaster F1 Wheel is lookin pretty good and is NOW available for playing F1 2011 with it.

We are almost there. It

We are almost there. It takes time to produce a professional movie.

Professional movie sounds

Professional movie sounds great. Can't wait to see it.

Hi Thomas. I'm wondering if

Hi Thomas.

I'm wondering if there are available information about the CSR vs CSR E currently made. I ordered the CSR the other day thinking it was the Elite-version (I blame lack of sleep / coffee), but got a refund. Now I'm not sure what to do - order the CSR or wait for the E-setup.

I'd assume alot of your customers would like to know more about the differences between these two wheels.

Kind regards, Strangefruit.

Hi. does anyone from Fanatec

Hi.
does anyone from Fanatec know if this retailer from canada is legitimate.
they claim to sell all Fanatec products and are in stock ??
here is a link to there website - http://simulation1.ca

HI, I have spoken to them in

HI,

I have spoken to them in the past and they claim they are the ONLY authorized retailer for North America.

They have a showroom with a full motion simulator that you can try.

They also said that they will carry the full CSR and CSW line when they are available.

I guess I will have to make a little trip to Markham to try the new CSW when it comes out. I guess that will also be the time to compare the CSP with my CST.

I still can't help but think

I still can't help but think this can't be right. Why would I order from Fanatec if I can get it for the same exact price in Markham but not have to pay shipping or duty? Does anybody from Fanatec know about this reseller?

If they were legit that

If they were legit that would be great as I live only an hour from Markham.

I'll start the reply for

I'll start the reply for Thomas so he has less to write in case I miss anything.

The CSR Elite will be 250 USD more than the CSR. It has the following features over the CSR:

- You can remove the rim with 2 screws on the Elite to potential attach alternate rims
- The Elite is almost entirely made of metal
- The Elite uses an optical sensor for position allowing more accuracy due to the sensor reading the code wheel directly mounted on steering column (I have the PWTS and it's not inaccurate by any means
- Larger fan in the elite
- 2 Force feedback motors compared to one to allow for it to rotate faster, have stronger force feedback and should allow for less or no "cogging"
- The wheel has carbon fibre
- Ballscrew mechanical limiter

I can't think of anything else. Thomas will likely correct or add anything I missed. Hope this helps.
