Firmware 715 for CSR Elite UPDATE 2

The first CSR Elite wheels have arrived at the customers and in order to give them a perfect experience from day 1 we are releasing 715 right away.

The new updater is not 100% ready yet but works much better than the old one and runs stable on Vista and Windows 7.

Please read the manual inside the .zip file and follow it carefully. This is really important to assure a smooth installation.

715 will bring several  improvements and bugfixes.

  • Issue with shifter paddles on Xbox360
  • Imporved force feedback effects
  • Autoclutch
  • Improved damper on PC and PS3. PC needs a driver for further imporvement but this will follow soon.

This version is only compatible with CSR Elite but we are working on a similar version for the CSR, PWGT2 and PWTS wheels.

Enjoy your CSR ELite with 715!

UPDATE: Video manual in french. Thanks to our community tester Homed!

The currently available

The currently available updater is not final and can be very unpredictable and somewhat 'fussy'. Just keep switching USB ports, power cycling the wheel and try, try and try again. My last attempt with it took 3 hours, you will just have to persevere I'm afraid old chap... for now ;O)

Hi I disconnected the

Hi
I disconnected the pedals and just had the wheel connected to the pc
Mine only took minutes and i was on xp just followed the instructions no problem.

I am sooo Ready for the

I am sooo Ready for the firmware update! Does any 1 know if it will improve FFB compatability with other games on xbox like Dirt3 , Race Pro, Nascar 2011 etc. So many good games to play it will suck if we cant play them with the wheel!

Do any of you testers have

Do any of you testers have an idea when the next firmware might be released? Id love to be able to mess with it before my vacation ends.

Once I go back to work my Forza time will be limited.

I can't tell, because today

I can't tell, because today I received from Fanatec a new 715 firmware way to upload it... No zip file.
I had a lot of problem downloading 715 at the beginning as my CSRelite wheel was 707and I had to go to a friend's place to download 715...
But today, everything was alright, and as this new firmware was still 715, I can tell that wheel behaved completely different !!! Wheel still shows 715 firmware but I am sure it is a different one they sent to me !
Maybe you should contact Fanatec next week...

I'm not a tester but from a

I'm not a tester but from a reliable source : Soon.

I thought that question was

I thought that question was forbidden here... :-)
That is my wish (as many others i think) too

Does Anyone know if I order

Does Anyone know if I order the wheel today, will I have to load the new firmware or will it be already loaded? thanks all

i ordered a few days ago an

i ordered a few days ago an it was still 707.

You will likely still have

You will likely still have to load the new firmware on it. Especially since there have been 2 or 3 more revisions since 715.

The wheel will come with the

The wheel will come with the firmware that was installed when it left the factory, so you will very likely have to update it. The current firmware is not the final build so you would have to update the firmware regardless.

Sorry didn't see this.

Hey guys what are your

Hey guys what are your settings for f1 2011

Sonac has a great settings

Sonac has a great settings database over at the Fanatec fan site (http://f-wheel.com) - click "settings" at the top.

CSW Firmware.

CSW Firmware. . On the CSW is the firmware the same as the elite. I noticed that on the video of the csw f1 rim that when it calibrated the wheel went back to the center.

Also is it possible the convert the Elite to a csw, as I have no need for the option of XBOX and PS3. I don't mind buying a new board and the rim and what ever it take to revamp it to a CSW?

CSR Elite goes back to

CSR Elite goes back to centre once you enter a mode (360,PC,PS3)

Does anyone else have a

Does anyone else have a slight sqeaking noise when the wheel is turned about 40 degrees to the right. doesn't happen all the time only seems to be on gentl turns when there is not much ffb

If u refer to the slight

If u refer to the slight sqeaking that the smaller of the two belts does, yes.
I wouldn't care too much about it and it is going to become lesser and lesser as the wheel gots used i think.
It is unavoidable as it is designed and has no teeth to make it smoother...the belt travels over the two motor axes and than to the big alloy wheel on the left side of the chassis
When you move it slowly you can hear the friction of the belt over the pulleys...u won't as u play

Hi everyone, just wondering

Hi everyone, just wondering if someone can answer me this as the CSR Elite is my first racing wheel. Basically when I'm driving on a straight with FFB on from between 30 and 100, on both Forza 4 and GT5, the wheel starts rotating slightly at a fast pace from left to right until I reach a corner, which makes it very hard to control and makes my arms tired trying to control it. Is that normal? I'm on FM 715 btw Thanks.

Set DPR to -3, this helps

Set DPR to -3, this helps with jitters and makes the feedback much smoother.

Set SRP to 1+ to increase centering force

Im using FF 40 to max 60, at 100 is crazy strong and unrealistically hard to handle.

I use the same Spr and Dpr

I use the same Spr and Dpr settings of 1 and -3, but always have the FFB at 100 on the wheel. Then adjust the FFB setting in the game menus to get the amount of FFB which is comfortable for you. I only play Forza 4 and I use a FFB setting of 50 in the game.
Troy. Maryland, USA

I would not consider that to

I would not consider that to be normal. The real question I think is "are other people experiencing odd behavior, where the wheel rotates by itself".

Is your wheel almost doing a shake? Like is it quickly turning right and left constantly?

It may depend on the setting

It may depend on the setting of SPR. I noticed that if set to 3 and u apply even the slightest force to wheel on straight it shakes.
I set DPR to negative (-2, -3) and left SPR up to max 1...when on straight i drive like on the ice...but after that it doesn't shake on straight
Problem is that due to the FF DZ when FF kicks in at +/-5 deg of rotation (when you actually start turning the car as turn comes) it is harsh because FF is than a step gradient from 0 (due to DZ) to any value (wheels on the curve)...

I have both my SPR and DPR

I have both my SPR and DPR set to 0, and it still shakes on the straights, the higher the FFB, the faster it shakes. I did have that skating on ice setting before, but that is not ideal either. I agree with you on the problem of Deadzone.

Yes, that would be correct,

Yes, that would be correct, it does a little shake. I'm having to play with FFB on 10 or completely off because of this issue.

Does this happen in all

Does this happen in all games? What settings are you running on the wheel?

I've only tried it in Forza

I've only tried it in Forza 4 and GT5, and it does the shaking in both of those. My settings are SEN OFF|FFB 100|SHO 60|DRI OFF|ABS 50|LIN 000|DEA 000|SPR 0|DPR 0|ACL OFF|

With all the other issues it

With all the other issues it is likely a FW bug. Other people seem to be having this issue.
