The year ends with a new Firmware for the CSR Elite (721 B)

There is one things left to be done this year and we made it in the last hours of 2011 to come up with a new firmware for the CSR Elite.

We have no more known issues but it is not fully tested yet so the release is classified as "BETA" version. We also have a new firmware updater which is more easy to use and  more compatible to all relevant Windows versions. But please make sure you read the instuctions which are included.

Please let me know how this version works for you.

Hi, Thomas

i have been having problems with my well it seems to go off centre and also dose not have force feed back for about 10 degrees

Hi Thomas Since the new

Hi Thomas Since the new update is it still advisable to have the DPR set to -3 on F1 2011 on the Xbox? Thanks

I adjust my in game ffb

I adjust my in game ffb settings to 60,100,20 f1 2011 feels great like that i leave the damper at 0... My wheel ffb is at 50% with those settings i cant tell any diff between damper at -3 or at 0 both feel same to me. But there is no 1 specific pre set its all about what feels good to u. Try those settings let me know how u like them.

ACL almost feels like

ACL almost feels like cheating to me but it seems to be the only way of clibing the leaderboards. Doe sanyone use CSR shifter with clucthc pedal or is everyone using ACL? I have the CSR shifter set but now seems to be a waste as can't get near the times I can with flappy paddles and ACL!

Use the shifters and clutch

Use the shifters and clutch for realism and immersion in races.. use autoclutch with the paddles to assault the LBs or online.

Also for simplicity when

Also for simplicity when switching from a Viper to an Italia (that's how I use it).

I've been doing a lot of

I've been doing a lot of driving in forza now and I use the paddles with the auto clutch. Now it would be cool if we had the option for a delay in the throttle rather than flat shifting all the time. This could give the option to blip the throttle for down shifting! Or just to avoid the banging of the rev limmiter. I also wouldnt think that there would a performance gain but just sound better. Just a idea if there is another firmware update.

Why does it hit the rev

Why does it hit the rev limiter everytime when using ACL? On mine it kind of bounces two times on the limiter when you press the paddle. It's annoying! When driving a Ferrari Italia for example it uses paddle shifters in real life, which I'm guessing would use a semi automatic system as there is no clutch. However in game if you want the most points you have to have it on manual with clutch and the only option is to have the ACL on. But then you get the limiter problem. Is this correct?

The wheel doesn't know what

The wheel doesn't know what type of car you are driving. It doesn't use the shift pattern that it would use when strictly using the car in "Manual" mode. So when you flat shift it flat shifts.

this is because you still on

this is because you still on the gas when you change gear that's why it hits the limiter

You can just lift the

You can just lift the throttle while shifting to avoid hitting the rev limiter.

I do that in my car real with sequential gearbox all the time to save the clutch since i use the most aggressive and direct setting that just slam's in the next gear when shifting up under throttle and high revs.

I used the ACL when hotlapping a lower class car a few weeks ago, when i did i used the throttle to blip on downshifts and it feelt quite good, dont remember if i held the shift button down while blipping or not but it felt like it worked decently.

Yeah I do that too but it

Yeah I do that too but it was just a thought while do the season play in forza!

Just change to manual with

Just change to manual with no clutch if thats what you're looking for, anything other than flat shifting while using ACL is pointless.

I've not got a gear stick on

I've not got a gear stick on my rig yet and doesn't feel natural using the clutch pedal with flappy paddles. I'm holding of for the clubsport shifter.
I'm going to use ACL and drop the revs between shifts.
Cheers

Tried this again recently,

Tried this again recently, it actually works as good as it could. Its a perfect implementation IMO.

If you hold the paddle in it holds the clutch, so you can blip the throttle before releasing on downshifts and lift quickly during upshifts.

Did not attempt this or

Did not attempt this or thought of trying this, nice info there TheRoggan.

Hello. I arrived yesterday

Hello.
I arrived yesterday the wheel "Fanatec CSR Elite" with the Clubsport pedals and Rennsport stand V2 (order n. 38596).
The goods are all right but I can not do the update driver 721B!
I tried in every way, with a Windows 7 64-bit, follow the instructions precisely, but hangs on "Flash phase 1...", not the ends and not me going.
The system is updated with Net Framework is 4.0, I closed all other applications and the wheel went in regular mode "boatloader"!
I do not know what to do.
Please help me.
Thank you.

Francesco

PS: I asked you, in the notes of the purchase order (n.38596), you make me upgrade to new drivers, but it was done!

Just FYI, the wheels are stored in a warehouse before being shipping to consumers. Not really feasible to unpack, flash, and repack and still get shipments out in a timely manner. Would you really want someone messing with your $500 wheel, and maybe not handling it as well as you would?

Ok problem solved, I was

Ok problem solved, I was able to install the drivers 721B!
Thank you.

Question? Is this the final

Question? Is this the final firmware update for the CSR-E or will there be another 1. If there will be another 1 how long till it comes out,or if this is the final 1 when will it be posted as the finished version instead or beta version.

Good question. The 715

Good question. The 715 update is still working well enough for me. It's not perfect, but I still have lots of fun with it. I don't want to update to another beta and then have to update the wheel again soon after. When will the final FW721 be released?
